ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Ceramics program is built on two core directions: design and composition and work in material, supported by intensive training in academic drawing, painting, colour theory, and decorative sculpture. Students develop strong technical and visual foundations through structured studio practice, moving from sketch and scale model to finished object in fired clay.
In the workshop, students work through the full ceramic process — preparing clay bodies, forming, drying, engobe and slip decoration, glazing, and firing — alongside throwing on the wheel, engraving, and stained glass. In design, the focus is on compositional principles, volume and light, scale, and the translation of an idea into a producible object. The program is completed with art history studies, a dedicated history of ceramics, and exposure to contemporary practices including artificial intelligence in art and photography.
